IQT Brand Guidelines

As a not-for-profit, IQT’s missions is national security. My mission for IQT? Brand Guidelines. IQT did not have a designer for 6 years until I came on board as a Graphic Design Specialist and in that time a contractor created a brand kit for them but without brand guidelines. IQT needed guidance on their logos, new color palettes, typography, and some corrections to the original brand kit in order to make it successful.

Challenge: Utilize an existing logo to create brand guidelines in the middle of a company rebrand. As a new in house designer, I had a full plate of designing and redesigning all collateral and brand guidelines are foundational for these projects. The logo files were not consistent with each other and the company who created them went out of business. IQTers were not familiar with the importance and purpose of branding or brand guidelines.
Solution: In order to create thorough brand guidelines, I recreated the logo in clean and consistent files. I then researched what I thought to be some of the most important aspects of brand guidelines to prioritize since there was a tight deadline for implementation. Once fully executed and designed, I held a lunch and learn for the company all about branding, brand guidelines, and all things graphic design.

Creative stack: Indesign and Illustrator
Design role: Led creation and final execution including research, layout, and branding excluding the creation of the logo.
